Online Education Game Reflection

The online educational game that my group members and I chose is Math Man: Addition-Up to 10. This game is free, inviting, easy to use, colorful, and exciting. This essay will talk about challenging tasks, how I would implement this game into my area of specialty, how I would revise the game for my students, and what technology tools I used to create and carry out the presentation.
In creating a rubric for the online educational game, the most challenging task was being able to find time that fit my group members and my schedule. The 20-30 minutes in class helped my group in the long run because waiting for each other to reply outside of class could take hours.
Although that is one of the most challenging task, another was finding an online made rubric to use as an example. The thought of using the same ideas from examples of the pervious ED271 classes seem like plagiarism, so my group and I tried as much as possible to reword and changed the categories.
One way I can implement the Chamorro language to elementary students is by teaching them how to count in Chamorro. If they know basic math, I could ask them to read out the equations, and answers in Chamorro. In the Chamorro language, when speaking, there are terms used for objects close or far from you. So, this sense of direction, could also be implemented in the lesson. Something as simple as the sense of direction. So, teaching the children how to say, up, down, left, right, etc can be another stepping stone for putting culture in the general classrooms, and help make teaching culturally relevant.
With the game Math Man: Addition-Up to 10, on the website Sheppard Software allows you to choose your topic, of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and mixed operations (n.d.). Within these topics, they are divided into two to four categories on how much numbers will be included in the game. With the game my group members and I choose was up to 10. Meaning that the equations and answers will not go above the number ten throughout the game. Furthermore, depending on the grade level and the knowledge my students learned will be the key factors of how I revise the assignment.
My group and I decided on Prezi, which is a free online presentation software to present our game. This tool is being always an eye-catching tool thanks to its themes and animations (Arvai, 2018). My group members and I all were familiar with Prezi and had an idea of how it worked. However, as we further developed our content and layout of our presentation, we ended up learning a lot more about Prezi and the specs of the tool. We learned the limitations to the tool, and that despite the animations and themes we liked, the animations got a bit distracting. Other than that Prezi was an efficient presentation tool.
Other tools we used was Google Docs and Google Form. We used Google Docs as an assitive technology tool.  Emails were sent out to the class the link, to the Google Doc where my group and I were, placed the link to our game. With this tool, we were able to see who accessed the document. In the document, we also placed a link for our Google Form, where we asked the audience to fill out and give an overall score for the game.
With the difficulty of trying to find a suitable time to meet one another, within my group, we decided on using Skype. Skype is an online communication application, where one may call, video call or instant message one another using the app, instead of using Whatsapp (Microsoft, 2018). We did a three-way call discussing the order of presenters, and practicing each person turn. The duration of the all lasted about 30 minutes. This was the last tool used to create my Math Man presentation.
